The women in the portrait series are the other Jewish women and the Arab women I’ve long been working with, to challenge the assumptions of public discourse in the West around Israel and Palestine, work which has led us to lifelong connections and creative collaborations. The text surrounding the central image is an excerpt from After the Last Sky by the late Palestinian writer Edward Said, whose lucid and moving work profoundly resonated for me, a child of Holocaust survivors, and greatly influenced my life. 
 
Muotokuvasarjan naiset ovat juutalais- ja arabinaisia, joiden kanssa olen työskennellyt pitkään haastaakseni länsimaista julkista keskustelua liittyen Israeliin ja Palestiinaan. Tämän myötä olemme luoneet elinikäisiä yhteyksiä ja tehneet luovaa yhteistyötä. Keskuskuvaa ympäröivä teksti on ote teoksesta After the Last Sky, joka on edesmenneen palestiinalaisen kirjailijan Edward Saidin tuotantoa.  Hänen koskettavat teoksensa resonoivat vahvasti minussa, holokaustista selvinneiden lapsessa, ja ovat vaikuttaneet suuresti elämääni.
