Sain inspiraation teokseen geokätköillessäni ystävän kanssa hylätyssä villiomenapuutarhassa. Auringon laskeva valo kultasi puutarhan ja lintujen laulu teki tilanteesta taianomaisen. Halusin tehdä tästä unenomaisesta ja vaikuttavasta hetkestä klassisen oksatutkielman; tahdoin päästä osalliseksi vastaavia taidehistorian aihemaailmoja kuten esim. Vincent van Goghin omenapuun oksat ja puiden oksat japanilaisissa puupiirroksissa.  

I was inspired to create this piece while geocaching with a friend in an abandoned wild apple orchard. The setting sun was golden in the garden and the birds singing made it magical. I wanted to turn this dreamlike and evocative moment into a classic branch study; I wanted to get involved with similar art historical themes, such as the branches of an apple tree in Vincent van Gogh’s work and the branches of trees in Japanese woodcuts
