This work captures a scene along the United States-Mexico border and presents a combination of Indigenous and Christian religious imagery. The Virgin Mary printed in a layer of metallic ink, presides over the landscape, accompanied by the “heads of the ancestors”, imbue the scene with a sense of sacred reverence. This is an example of cultural mestizaje, a term that in Latin America mostly refers to the blending of Indigenous and European traditions.

Tämä teos taltioi tapahtuman Yhdysvaltojen ja Meksikon rajalla ja se on yhdistelmä alkuperäiskansojen ja kristittyjen uskonnollista kuvastoa.
