Teokseni kuvaa valkoista muovituolia, jossa isäni usein istui. Se perustuu valokuvaan, jossa tuoli erottuu illan tummentamaa nurmea vasten. Teos valmistui työväenopiston grafiikan kurssilla Helsingin Herttoniemessä vuonna 2014. Olin juuri muuttanut Helsinkiin ja etsin paikkaa, jossa vedostaa carborundum-grafiikkaa. Sellaisen löytäminen osoittautui hyvin vaikeaksi, joten päädyin vedostamaan teokseni työväenopiston kurssilla. Laatan tein jo kotona valmiiksi. Muovituolia esittävä teos on suosikkini, koska sen aihe ja tekniikka sopivat erityisen hyvin yhteen.

My work depicts a white plastic chair where my father used to sit. It is based on a photograph in which the chair stands out against the darkened grass in the evening. The work was completed during a printmaking course at the workers’ college in Herttoniemi in Helsinki in 2014. I had just moved to Helsinki and was looking for a place to print carborundum graphics. Finding one proved to be very difficult, so I decided to print my work at a course at the Työväenopisto. I had finished the plate at home. The plastic chair piece is my favourite because the subject matter and technique are particularly well suited to each other.
